At Mantello Kia Roxburgh Park, we love heading out on the fun, four-wheeled adventures around Victoria — whatever the season. Whether it’s the steepest hills or the most winding roads, there is so much fun to be had out there.
Here’s our list of Victoria’s top five most fun roads to drive to help you decide where to head this year. Fill up the car, grab your friends and family and get set to experience the best of what the state has to offer.
Arthur’s Seat Road
If you’re looking for a fun drive, it’s hard to beat Arthur’s Seat. The thrilling combination of switchback hairpins and shockingly great views is perfect for a short, fun adventure. The twists and turns up to Arthur’s Seat provide spectacular vantage points to see Mornington Peninsula and the surrounding areas, and the summit is a perfect picnic spot for the whole family.
The new Kia Sportage is our top recommendation for fun family road trips. Providing the ultimate in versatility, it boasts enhanced passenger room, smart charging and larger luggage capacity. It also features heated and ventilated seats, meaning your fun Victorian drive will never be compromised.
The Great Ocean Road
Built by WW1 veterans over 14 years, The Great Ocean Road is an absolute must-drive. With jaw-dropping views and plenty of gorgeous coastal towns to stop off at, this journey is always a fun one. If you can, head here on weekdays to avoid the crowds, or even early in the morning to catch those dreamy sunrise rays over the water.
If you have a weekend to spare, start in stunning, beachy Torquay and head to Apollo Bay. This three hour coastal adventure will provide you with wildlife-spotting, incredible views and wild beaches. From there, head to the magnificent Port Fairy to take in historical charm, regional fare and its buzzing local arts scene.
Black Spur Drive
Spanning 56km, Black Spur Drive boasts pole-straight gum trees, an abundance of ferns and, if you’re lucky, you might spot some wildlife. Best started at Lilydale and followed through to Marysville, this Victorian road has some of the best views you’ll see in the state.
Fun Victorian drives should never compromise on safety, and for that, Kia has got you covered. The Kia Rio, for example, has active safety features to help maintain control in a variety of challenging driving situations - allowing you to cruise in confidence.
Great Alpine Road
This 339km journey is Australia’s highest year-round accessible road that will take you past rolling vineyards, shimmering waterways on the coast and down plunging mountain valleys. Arguably one of the best driving experiences in Australia, you’ll see rugged scenery from Wangaratta all the way to Gippsland Lakes.
Bogong High Plains Road
This fun Victorian drive is a little less mainstream but lacks nothing in rugged Australian views. This road is smooth, flowing and allows you to take in mountainous landscapes and forests with ease. The road climbs steeply from Mount Beauty through tall ashes, before you reach the gorgeous Falls Creek.
